OPSEU agrees to 4 year deal with the KCDSB

Workers represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union at the Kenora Catholic District School Board have a new contract.

Trustees held a special meeting Tuesday night to ratify the four year deal.

It expires on August 31st, 2026 and is retro-active to September 1st, 2022.

OPSEU represents education assistants, early childhood Educators, and lunch hour monitors.

Unionized employees voted in favour of the deal on October 30th.

Previously, the union had agreed to a dollar an hour increase in each of the four years of the contact, along with benefit increase.

Those negotiations took place at the provincial level.
