55 First Nations Risk Losing Funding Over Transparency Act

There are three northwestern Ontario First Nations communities who haven’t complied by the First Nations Financial Transparency Act.
Wabauskang, Neskantaga and Kashechewan First Nations haven’t filed their financial statements and salaries of council members.
The Federal government has now published the names of 55-First Nations that haven’t followed the new law, 12 of them are in Ontario.
The Onion Lake Cree Nation, which straddles the Alberta-Saskatchewan boundary, is taking the government to court over the new law.
