6 New Forest Fires Reported Sunday

6 new forest fires sparked Sunday in the Dryden, Fort Frances and Nipigon District’s.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says all of the new starts required aggressive attack by firefighters and water bombers and all fires were contained.
Information Officer Travis Moffatt says 32-active fires are burning across the Region.
This District has seen 163-fires so far this season.
The forest fire hazard is moderate to high across much of the Region.
Meantime, the MNR is investigating a suspected human-caused fire on Lake of the Woods near Kenora.
The fire is burning on a small island near Sunset Channel and is being monitored.
