UPDATE: It’s Groundhog Day!

Are we in for another 6 weeks of winter or an early spring?

Nova’s Scotia’s Shubenacadie Sam has made its prediction.

Groundhog Day is a tradition every February 2.

Shubenacadie Sam in Nova Scotia was a little slow to emerge from her den this morning, but once she did, she did not see her shadow.

Wiarton Willie from Ontario agreed with Sam, and didn’t see a shadow, which means an early spring.

If they had seen their shadows, folklore says, six more weeks of winter.

As for Lucy the Lobster in Barrington, Nova Scotia, she did see her shadow!
