Machin ready to pass budget this month

The Township of Machin is planning to pass it’s municipal budget later this month.

As it stands now, the town is looking at a 4.6 percent increase.

Staff has submitted all their budget requests, and a special meeting was held last month to go over the municipality’s finances.

Mayor Gord Griffiths says while this is a preliminary figure, he doesn’t expect much change.

Griffiths says they plan to have a public meeting before the budget is passed.

That meeting will take place prior to the open council session, when the budget will be presented on May 13th.
