The forest fire hazard is starting to inch up in the region.

It’s now listed as moderate with some pockets of high.

In the past few days, forest fire fighters have dealt with nine wild fires.

Four have been in the Kenora District, two in Sioux Lookout and one each in the Dryden, Red Lake and Fort Frances Districts.

All were small in size and all except one has been declared out.

Sioux Lookout fire #3 is under control at 0.1 hectares in size near the Mishkeegogamang First Nation (New Osnaburgh).
