An Edmonton man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman from Long Lake 58 First Nation.
OPP says the 31-year-old appeared in a Thunder Bay courtroom on Saturday on a charge of failing to stop at an accident resulting in death.
Police say the body of 41-year-old Kathleen Desmoulin was discovered along Highway 11 in the community on November 18, 2023.
As a result of their investigation, an arrest warrant was issued.
With the assistance of the Canadian Border Services Agency and Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the accused was arrested and taken into custody in Saskatchewan earlier this week before returned to Ontario.
Despite the arrest, police say they are still investigating the matter.
