Things are really heating up on the forest fire front in northwestern Ontario.
There were 13 new fires that sparked on Thursday.
Six were in the Dryden area, the others were in the Sioux Lookout, Red Lake, Kenora and Fort Frances districts.
None pose any threat to property, and all are under one hectare in size.
There are 87 active fires currently burning, 11-considered not under control.
The largest fire is Kenora #71, northwest of Whitedog First Nation, and it’s being held at over 10,200 hectares in size.
Crews are working on extinguishing areas in the interior of the fire.
The public is urged to use extreme caution with recreational fires this weekend.
