Investing more money in health care and education are Liberal priorities according to the two candidates running in Northwestern Ontario.
Thunder Bay-Atikokan incumbent Bill Mauro says the Grits have already made significant investments in the North and have made strides to diversify the economy.
Kenora-Rainy River Liberal Mike Wood says he doesn’t agree with a Conservative plan to introduce private health care clinic’s.
Wood says the move would mean quality doctors would leave the North for the big money in major markets.
He adds private health care means you can pay your way to the front of the line.
Wood is also upset that no one from this riding was invited to participate in a CEP sponsored forestry debate in Thunder Bay Friday.
He says he has years of experience in the sector and wanted to introduce new ideas.
