A Major Forestry Investment In Northern Ontario

The Provincial Government is investing in Northern Ontario’s forestry sector.
Minister of Natural Resources David Orazietti says along with Rentech, they are converting the idled oriented strandboard mill in Waw to an industrialized wood pellet facility.
Rentech is investing more than $80 million in both the Wawa and Atikokan mill.
Orazietti says this will result in 40-full-time jobs, additional 200-jobs in the forest and 100-construction jobs within the community.
Production is expected to start in the fall of 2014, with an annual production of 360,000 tonnes of pellets by 2016.
