Ontario fire crews dispatched to Alberta, B.C. and Northern Manitoba
are making their way back home and the timing couldn’t be better.
The Ministry of Natural Resources has pushed the fire hazard to high
across the Northwest with over 40 fires still active.
Information Officer Debbie McLean says the largest fire is an out-of-control one in the south end of Woodland
Caribou Park near Red Lake.
The 100-hectare fire is burning so intensly that the MNR has been forced to suspend
firefighting efforts and its not threatning any property.
Crews are expected to remain busy the next few days with warm weather
and some lightning in the forecast.
