Minister of Natural Resources David Ramsey attended a press conference this morning to relay the biggest announcement Abitibi Consolidated has made in over four years.
The bio-mass boiler will make the Fort Frances Mill among the best in the industry, according to CEP Vice President of Operations, Michel Mea (May-a).
Mea also says the mill will be better equipped to face global competition and the cost of energy for the mill will be vastly reduced.
Finalizing plans to begin construction is underway.
Abitibi management still need to select a vendor and finalize zoning approval.
