Abitibi-Bowater mill odour 1

An open meeting was held in International Falls yesterday to hear what is being done about local mill odours.

Abitibi-Bowater Fort Frances mill manager John Harrison told the gathering at the Koochiching County Courthouse that the main problem is the secondary treatment system, or as it is called locally, the Lagoon.

Harrison said the company is working on the odour, adding it is within the Ministry of Environment guidelines…

N010 20 seconds O/C…system.

Harrison said he would be willing to come back to the Koochiching County board in six months to update them on what is happening to solve the odour problem.
