Aboriginal Child Conference in Fort William

Fort William First Nation is hosting a summit on Aboriginal child welfare this week.
Children’s Minister Laurel Broten says this is a great opportunity to make important decision for Child Welfare services across Ontario.
Special Advisor for the Ministry or Children John Beaucage says the current system needs to be revamped.
Aboriginal children account for 3% of the Province’s child population but 17% of children in the welfare system.
