Aboriginal Day Celebrations In Sioux Lookout

It’s Aboriginal Day across the country and Sioux Lookout is making it special.
Economic Development Officer Florence Bailey says the town is making some great connections.
She says the municipality is partnering with the Sioux Mountain Public School, the Ontario Native Women’s Association and the Sunset Women’s Aboriginal Sunset Circle to host a full day of activities downtown at Centennial Park.
There is also a friendship signing between the municipality, Lac Seul First Nation and Slate Falls First Nation.
That takes place at 11:30.
Bailey says the day recognizes the importance that First Nations people play in the municipality.
