Aboriginal Health Programs Receive Funding

7 Aboriginal community support programs in Northwestern Ontario have received a total of $518,000 in funding.
The Northwest Local Health Integration Network approved the funding for the new programs that will be providing services to seniors and elders in remote First Nation communities.
A good chunk of the money is going to a tele-homecare service which will serve 312-clients in 26-aboriginal communities.
The video technology will include wound care, diabetes management, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
Other communities benefiting from the funding include Kingfisher Lake, Keewaywin, Slate Falls, Sandy Lake, Gull Bay and Kenora.
