Acclaimed author virtually visiting Dryden Public Library

Dryden Public Libary is hosting an award-winning author for a special free virtual talk on Thursday.

Amanda Peters, author of bestselling novel The Berry Pickers, will join local audiences online, starting at 6 p.m.

The library’s CEO and chief librarian says hosting such acclaimed authors connects the library to the wider literary community.

“It gives us an access much beyond what we would be able to handle geographically if we were trying to bring people physically here,” says Caroline Goulding. “So it’s really exciting.”

Based in Nova Scotia, Amanda Peters’ debut novel, The Berry Pickers, won the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction as well as several other awards.

Goulding says other future free author sessions include Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Charles Duhigg next Tuesday and people can register and participate without even leaving their homes.

“(People) can go to our Facebook page or they can also visit our website,” says Goulding. “It is linked under our e-resources tab.”
