Additional $100,000 for Mammography Unit

The Canadian Cancer Society is providing $100,000 in funding towards the purchase of a mammography unit at the Meno-Ya-Win Health Centre in Sioux Lookout.
Marnie Hoey is the President of the Meno-Ya-Win Health Centre Foundation and says its great to know that the Hospital will be able to fulfill its commitment to Sioux Lookout and the people of 29-First Nation communities.
The current portable mammography service is available only a few weeks of the year and is for screening purposes only.
The new service would be 5-days per week, eliminating wait times and travel burdens for patients.
The unit would provide screening and assessments.
