Adjusted Timetable For New Gold

New Gold is pushing back the start of work at its gold mine north of Barwick.
The company has previously stated construction would begin by the middle of this year once all formal approvals have been received.
Chair Randall Oliphant says they’ve now moved that date ahead six months.
New Gold still expects to spend almost $850-million on the project.
Project Director Paul Hosford says there is the possibility of the timetable being adjusted.
Hosford says some equipment has already been ordered and will be erected later this year with some limited operations expected by the end of the year.
He adds they’re anticipating the workforce to peak at about 450 people.
