Adult Education #1

The Keewatin Patricia District School Board has dropped

the axe on the financially challenged adult education

program.

Offering the program for 2006-2007 would have meant a

loss of 211 thousand dollars for the board, and an

additional 33 thousand dollar loss for Crescive

Corporation.

Superintendent of Finance Dean Carrie says they need to

look at substantial ways of saving money and lowering

their million dollar deficit.

The Board will be directing adult learners who wish to

pursue their secondary school diplomas to the Independent

Learning Centre.
