Advance Polls Open on Good Friday

Elections Canada says it has no say in how the advance voting falls for the May 2nd Federal election.
Spokesperson Karen Janigan says the law states that advanced voting must be held so many days prior to the actual election day.
She notes there are other options available for those who aren’t comfortable voting over the Easter weekend.
Special ballots are available at any time by visiting the Dryden and Kenora election offices.
Janigan says it would take an act of Parliament to make any changes to the timing of the advance polling.
