The Ministry of Natural Resources has completed its aerial spray
program.
Project Manager Marlene Rhyner says the program will protect the jack
pine forests in the Region and should keep the trees alive and healthy,
although it won’t completly eliminate the jack pine budworm.
The MNR sprayed 60,000 hectares in the Dryden area, 71,000
hectares in Kenora and 42,000 hectares in the Atikokan area.
