Air Ambulance Provider Cleared Of Any Criminal Wrongdoing

Ontario’s air ambulance provider has been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing. The Provincial Police say they don’t have enough evidence to lay criminal charges against ORNGE. The announcement follows a lengthy and complex investigation into allegations of criminal wrongdoing on the part of senior employees of ORNGE. The probe started in February 2012 and came at the request of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. It focused on the corporate structure and evolution of the organization, its performance agreement and reporting structure with the province and the relationships between ORNGE and vendors of aircraft. The investigation required nearly 1,800 hours of work and cost slightly less than $250,000.
