Air Canada is adjusting its first checked bag policy to match rival airline – WestJet.
The carrier’s fee will be $25.
The fee applies to the airline’s lowest economy class Tango fares for travel on or after November 2.
The news comes just days after WesJet announced it would charge the same amount for a passengers first checked bag.
According to the Globe and Mail, analysts suggest it could add about $50 million in pre-tax operating earnings for Air Canada.
