A cool, damp summer has resulted in fewer mosquitoes in Northwestern Ontario.
The Northwestern Health Unit has been trapping mosquitoes for its West Nile Testing program.
Public Health Officer Al Mathers says so far there has been no evidence of the disease in this region.
Mathers says they suspended their dead bird reporting program this year and have only been trapping mosquitoes in the Dryden, Kenora and Fort Frances areas.
