A Progressive Conservative member wants the legislature
to investigate aboriginal land claims and hold public
hearings across Ontario.
Toby Barrett whose riding includes the town of
Caledonia, says he wants to set up an all part committee
that will look at first nation land issues.

Barrett says Northwestern Ontario has its fair share of
unresolved land claim issues, including the Grassy Narrows
and Big Trout Lake First Nations.
The PC MPP’s motion will be debated when the Ontario
legislature resumes in March.
