Allan Joseph Williams, age 62 of Fort Frances, ON passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 30, 2003. Allan was born, June 15, 1940, in Savant Lake, ON to Jessie Williams and Henry Maggotte. Allan grew up in Savant Lake and worked for the CNR until an injury prevented him from continuing employment with the company. Allan loved to travel and very often took along his quitar wherever he went. He liked to meet new people who also had a love of music. Soon he would have an impromptu playing session organized much to the enjoyment of those around him. Gospel music was amongst some of his favorite music. Allan spent many hours helping out or just visiting at the local branch of the Salvation Army in Fort Frances. There he met many wonderful friends. Allan is predeceased by two brothers, Lornie Williams and Archie Maggotte. Allan is survived by longtime companion, Violet Omeara and her son, Alvin Murdoch; sister in law Julie Williams (widow of Lornie); twin brother Fred Williams of Thunder Bay, ON; sisters, Florence and Steve Belmore of Thunder Bay, ON, Darlene and David Hamilton of Emo, ON, Barbara Esquega also of Emo, ON as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday April 3 from 12:00 p.m. till time of service. Funeral services will be held in Savant Lake, ON, Friday, April 4, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Savant Lake Community Hall with Captain Eric Alcock of the Fort Frances Salvation Army officiating. Interment will take place at the Saugeen Cemetery, following the service. A memorial will be held to celebrate the life and to mourn his passing at the Salvation Army in Fort Frances on April 8, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. Should family and friends so desire donations may be made to the Salvation Army through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, ON P8N 2X3
