Almost 1 in 5 Pick Wrong Answer in CKDR’s First Poll

CKDR’s first on-line poll shows that almost 1 in 5 of those who responded think the position of Mayor carries more weight than an Individual Counillor. 361 people voted with 19% saying the Mayor was the single most important and could over-ride Council. 81% correctly answered that while the Mayor is the ‘figurehead’ of the community, the Mayor has only a single vote (usually cast to break a tie) that carries no more weight than the vote of an indivudla Councillor. This week, CKDR is asking if Voters have to vote to fill ALL positions on Council or can vote for as few candidates as they wish, as long as they don’t exceed the total number of openings.
