In loving memory of Alvena Desserre August 19, 1945 to November 21, 2008.
She was predeceased by her loving parents Alphonse and Sophie Desserre. Alvena is survived by her husband Christopher Rudd and three daughters: Ronda Caul (Richard) Veldman from Calgary, Lesley (Curtis) Kay from Edmonton and Shenanda (Dave) Peplinskie from Dryden along with her pride and joy, her three grand-children Richann, James and Brenden.
Alvena is also survived by brothers Howard Desserre (Debbie) from Dryden and Elwood who was living at home with her. She also has a very special sister Bonnie Desserre living in Pinewood, Ontario as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Alvena was a loving daughter for her parents. She took care of them unselfishly and nursed them until their time of passing. She loved watching her grandson Brenden play hockey and could be heard yelling at the referee that they were jackasses. She also loved to play Bingo or whisper a few choice words at the Toronto Maple Leafs or the Blue Jay catcher.
Alvena grew up on a farm in Stratton, Ontario and was a firm believer that work was an honest way of life. Whenever company was present and discussed the good and the bad times on the farm, her eyes would light up and she would glow with pride.
Alvena had a big heart so full of love that she raised three daughters and numerous foster children. She had love to spare and was not afraid of work. Her pride and love will continue to shine in her daughter’s heart and through her grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Drs. Louttit and Dahmer for the excellent care and all the hospital staff for their help in assuring Alvena passed away peacefully.
