Alvin Fiddler sworn in as NAN Grand Chief

Alvin Fiddler is officially back as the Grand Chief of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation.

He was acclaimed this morning during the Keewaywin Conference in Thunder Bay to take over for a 1 year term.

A task he says feels daunting.

“If you have three years, you have a bit more time to do things that you need to. But I know that based what I, what you talked about yesterday and also what you’ve shared with me over the last month, there’s some really big issues we need to pay attention to.”

In his remarks Fiddler acknowledged former Grand Chief Derek Fox and offered his support noting there has to be healing before the organization can move forward.
