Four American men have been fined a total of $1,000 for possessing black bear claws they did not register.
The men were charged last June after the Ministry of Natural Resources investigated the shooting of a black bear near Loon Lake, 120 kilometres southwest of Lac La Croix, on the Ontario-Minnesota border.
The paws were found to have been removed.
The four men, who were staying at a nearby lodge, initially denied taking the paws of the animal shot by the lodge owner, only later to recant their story.
