Lac Seul First Nation and Goldcorp have signed a collaboration agreement.
Chief Clifford Bull says it sets a framework for continued consultation for current and future operations with the Red Lake area gold mines. He says for Lac Seul specifically, it means prosperity and there are a lot of things in the agreement with respect to revenue sharing, job opportunities, contracting provisions and training. In addition, Chief Bull says it will allow them to share resources, as outlined in their Treaty.
Bull notes that it’s important First Nations people know of the job opportunities available to them.
