Andre Joseph Paquette

In loving memory of Andre Joseph Paquette, age 89 years, who passed away on Saturday February 28th at the Dryden Regional Health Centre surrounded by his family.

Andre was born in Marcelin, Saskatchewan in 1925 and moved to Pinewood, Ontario as a child. He worked as a logger for his future father-in-law in the Pinewood area. He joined the army in 1939 and served overseas as a paratrooper until 1945. Andre and some of his brothers went to BC and the Yukon to work on the Alaska Highway. Some of his brothers stayed in BC to work but Andre returned to Pinewood and married Rita Landry in 1948. He worked for the Canadian Pacific Railroad for a while and then worked with the Dryden Paper Company in the Woodlands division until he retired.

Andre is survived by his wife Rita, children Claude (Sharon), Giselle Alexander (Randy), Annette Neill, Michel, Edmond (Susan), and Suzanne Zoccole (Russ), 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sister Marguerite Henley, brothers Laurent, Georges, Rosaire, Raymond and Guy as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Andre was predeceased by his parents Esther and Dieudonne Paquette and daughter Lauraine Doherty.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Andre’s life will be held Wednesday March 4th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Moffat Chapel of Stevens Funeral Homes with Reverend Alan Campeau officiating.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Wednesday in the Moffat Chapel of Stevens Funeral Homes.
