The leader of the federal Conservatives says Energy East is a missed opportunity for our country.
Andrew Scheer says he’s optimistic about bringing TransCanada back to the table if he becomes the next Prime Minister.
Scheer says there was obviously a market for the project, until the government changed the rules of the game.
He notes the government must act as a champion for the oil and gas sector.
Scheer is laying the blame for the demise of the pipeline at the feet of Justin Trudeau and rejects the idea that it was due to market conditions.
