Mrs. Anna Whiting aged 82 years resident of Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home in Kenora passed away peacefully November 10, 2007 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora. Born and educated in Toronto, she received her Registered Nurse’s at Wellesley General, and moved to Dryden to nurse at the old Red Cross Hospital. She married Jim Whiting April 19, 1950. She was predeceased by her husband Jim in May 1981. She is survived by Cathy and Peggy of Thunder Bay and Lorne of Kenora and her brother Tom(Shirley) and a niece Susan of Orillia, Ontario. The family would like to thank all the staff at Birchwood Terrace who contributed to Mom’s well being and comfort the last four years and also to Dr. Bowerman and the staff of 3 East at Lake of the Woods District Regional Hospital for their care and in keeping her comfortable in her last few days.
At Mom’s request there will be no memorial service. If friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may be made to Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home Activity Fund, 237 Lakeview Drive, RR #3, Kenora, Ontario P9N4J7.
