Annual Business Awards a Success

The Dryden District Chamber of Commerce recognized local businesses, managers and employees at its 2013 Business Excellence Awards Saturday night.

A sold-out crowd of local business people was joined by members of the Northern Ontario Associated Chambers of Commerce who wrapped up their Spring Conference in Dryden earlier in the day.

While several traditional winners took home awards, there were also numerous new faces, reflecting the spirit of entrepreneurship in the community.

Pat Pearson, owner of First Impression, captured the award for New Business, while the ‘peer to peer’ Business of the Year Award went to Gould’s Brandsource.

Woman in Business – Tammy Reid from The Bulk Zone
Marketing Excellence – The Centre
Not for Profit Excellence – Second Chance Pet Network for their Foster Home Program (Yvette Burns, Coordinator )
Fresh New Image – Masala Restaurant
Business Supporting Tourism and Hospitality – Borealis Sled Dog Adventures
Business Supporting Healthcare – Dryden Pharmasave – Pharmacists Eeva MacDonald and Rob Button
Manager of the Year – Sarju and Sushma Mashru from Masala Restaurant
Customer Service Excellence – Wendy Eby from Wilson’s business solutions
