Another packed house Saturday at the Fairgrounds for the annual Newfie Night Seafood Dinner and Dance.
This year, funds were raised for the ‘Eagles on Track’ program.
Mike Wood says they are close to their fundraising goal to resurface the Harry McMaster track.
Wood believes they may be able to start work after the school year finishes and notes it should be ready before the start of a new school year.
Wood says Newfie Night is an “incredible event” and notes they were honoured to be selected as the recipient this year.
Newfoundland Labrador Heritage Club member Bill McIssac says it takes a lot of work to pull this event off each year.
McIssac says they have over 100-volunteers involved and notes they wouldn’t be able to host the event without the support of the community.
McIssac says roughly $140,000 has been raised for Dryden area charities over the past 20-years.
The final total for this year isn’t yet known.
