Dryden High School student Michelle Arseneault has been selected as a finalist in the Earth Day Canada Hometown Hero competition.
Arseneault has been an environmental leader in the community for several years.
She launched the One Less Plastic Bag campaign two years ago, resulting in some 43-local retailers making the move to eliminate the use of plastic bags.
Her campaign has also reached Sioux Lookout, where Council is poised to prohibit the sale or use of plastic bags.
Arseneault is also a member of the DHS Envirothon Team and founder of the DHS Green Eagles.
