Another Mill Closure in Northwestern Ontario

300 workers are being laid off in Red Rock after Norampac
announced that it’s shutting down its linerboard mill.
The forestry products firm says it’s shutting down the plant
indefinitely due to “unfavourable economic factors.”
The mill produces 300-thousand short tonnes of unbleached kraft
linerboard a year that are sold mostly to its own corrugated products
plants.
