Another Quiet Fire Season in NW Ontario

It has been a quiet forest fire season in Northwestern Ontario.
The Ministry of Natural Resources has had to deal with 176-forest fires in the Northwest District since April 1st.
A total of nearly 1,400 hectares of land has been scorched.
Information Officer Debbie McLean says they handled 205-fires at this point last year.
A total of 1,165 hectares burned.
The official end to the fire season is October 31st.
Most of the work conducted by fire crews this year has been in fire fighting efforts in British Columbia.
