In Loving Memory of Antonio Zappitelli, age 79 of Ignace who passed away on Sunday October 19, 2003 at Birchwood Terrace in Kenora. Antonio Zappitelli was predeceased by his parents Costantino and Maria Zappitelli, his wife Iolanda, son Robert and great grand daughter Hope. Antonio Zappitelli came to Ignace in 1948 and worked for the CPR. He owned and operated the restaurant, service station and the Westwood Motel in Ignace. Antonio enjoyed cooking, serving and interacting with the hundred’s of customers over the many years. He enjoyed gardening and blueberry picking a trait that he passed onto his children. Antonio’s happiest times were spent with his grand children; they were the greatest joy of his life. Antonio Zappitelli is survived by daughter Annie Naumann and her husband Eugene of Ignace, son Chris Zappitelli his wife Barbara of Ignace, brothers Joe Zappitelli his wife Mary of Ignace, and Alfred Zappitelli his wife Antoinetta of Ohio and sister Nicolina Zappitelli her husband Mike of Montreal, and daughter in law Gail Zappitelli of Nipigon , grandchildren Lisa (Howard), Mary, Steven (Jen), Anthony, Christa, Sheila, Carrie (Darrin), Bobby and Amanda. Great grand children Marlee, Mattie, Howe Jr., Alex, Connor, Gracie and Quinton. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation was held Tuesday October 21, 2003 from 6:00 –8:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ignace with prayers at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services were held Wednesday October 22, 2003 at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ignace with Msgr. Bourguignon officiating. Interment to follow in the Ignace Cemetery.
