Area cattle farmers continue to face tough times.
The U.S. Border has been closed to Canadian beef for more than a year now and cattle prices continue to fall.
Kim Jo Bliss says the situation is becoming worrisome.
Bliss doesn’t expect the border to reopen anytime soon given the American election campaign.
She adds if John Kerry wins the election, there are rumors the issue may not be high on his agenda.
Bliss says if she sold some of her steers at today’s prices, the money would not even cover the cost of the loan to buy them.
