A Thunder Bay area First Nations leader is seeking legal advice after a traditional burial ground is believed to have been cleared for mining exploration without band permission.
Marten Falls Chief Eli Moonias says he spotted the cleared ground 60 kilometres north of the reserve three weeks ago while checking his trap line.
Moonias says no remains appear to have been disturbed but the band should have been contacted before anyone attempted to cut down any trees.
