Area Leaders Address Deficit

Ontario’s plan to run a $500-million deficit to offset declining revenues has sparked some concern.
Dryden Mayor Anne Krassilowsky says the Province has done a good job supporting communities and she hopes the Government maintains the course.
Krassilowsky says area municipalities can’t afford a cut in financing, noting they have no money to deal with crumbling infrastructure.
Kenora-Rainy River MPP Howard Hampton says the Provincial Government is leaving area communities high and dry.
The NDP Leader says municipalities can ill-afford a cut in funding and he predicts more job losses across the North as a result of the Government’s poor handling of its finances.
