Area Lodge Owner Hit With Hefty Fine

Kenora-area lodge owner James Palmer has been fined $1,500 for unlawful possession of a muskie below size requirements and obstructing a MNR conservation officer.
The fines stem from an August inspection at the White Pine Lodge where the under size muskie was found in a freezer.
Palmer said the fish belonged to American fisherman Stephen Allan and was not caught on Lake of the Woods.
The conservation officer determined that was a lie.
Allen was fined $750 for his part in the incident.
