Kenora-Rainy River MPP Howard Hampton is calling the Government’s proposed drug charges a one size fits all strategy that ignores the concerns of small pharmacies in Northern Ontario.
Hampton backed his claims in the Legislature by outlining the concerns from the owner of an area Pharmacy.
The NDP member says the closure of pharmacies will force residents to travel several kilometres to get prescriptions filled.
Health Minister Deb Matthews says an increase in the dispensing fee provided to pharmacies will offset any losses incurred by the proposed change.
