Area Should Be a “Therapeutic Getaway”

Northwestern Ontario Tourist operators should sell this area as a “therapeutic getaway!”
Berekley Young addressed delegates attending a Tourism Forum in Dryden, stressing this area is as beautiful as any in the world.
Young says visitors want to escape and don’t want local squabbling impacting their visit.
The North Carolina based Marketing expert says everyone should be on the same page to market this Region.
Young says outfitters should be targeting adults without kids and need to take advantage of social media like Twitter and Facebook.
He also points out that instead of focusing on the usual markets, look outside to markets in the Southern United States.
Young points out that Charlotte is growing 60 to 70,000 people a year and is full of outdoor enthusiasts who like to hunt and fish.
He says business owners should pay attention to the cycles and market to customers they can satisfy.
Young stresses don’t set unrealistic expectations and make the experience as enjoyable as you can.
