Assault In A Taxicab

A Red Lake cab driver came to the rescue of a woman in trouble early Sunday morning.
Red Lake OPP say as an assault was taking place in a parking lot, a cabbie pulled up and a woman jumped inside the taxi.
But a man, who had apparently been assaulting her, also jumped inside.
The cab driver pulled the man out of the car and locked the woman inside so he could drive her to the police detachment.
Officers later found a 45-year-old Pikangikum man and took him into custody on assault charges.
