Atikokan Art Centre Will Stay Open

The doors at the Atikokan Art Centre will remain open thanks to last minute funding from the Federal Government.
The Centre was faced with an end of August closure, before the Conservatives came through with $166,000.
Mayor Dennis Brown says the money will be used to hire 2-employees to operate the facility and draft a long-term strategic plan.
Brown says they still need cash to complete the Centre’s geo-thermal heating system.
