August Warm and Dry

It was a strange month of August in Sunset Country.
Even though we sweated through so many day’s of 30-plus temperatures,
the monthly average was around the normal 23 degree mark.
Etienne Gregoire of Environment Canada says a damp and cool end of August helped knock down the average temperature.
As for precipitation, Gregoire says the area got hit with 46.5-millimetres
of rain, while the normal mark is around 85.
However, he notes we had more severe thunderstorms then in previous years.
